mdw’s Department of Folk Music Research and Ethnomusicology celebrated 60 years of research, artistic practice, teaching, and socio-political engagement. On this occasion a symposium titled sound, move, transgress took place. The day concluded with an evening celebration featuring musical performances and scholarly reflections from friends of the department, our disciplinary community and beyond.
